Resistance Machines

We have a small selection of resistance machines and cable-apparatus here at Fighting Fit, providing the perfect compliment to our extensive free weight selection. All our upper body machines are also specially designed to cater for wheelchair users, and come with seats that swivel out of the way!

Machine Chest Press and Row

Our PowerSport Chest Press and Row machines are great for adding in extra upper body work to your sessions. A variety of grip positions and seat heights allow for a perfect individual set up to be achieved, and a stack weighting in excess off 100 kg on both machines means there is enough weight for all gym users.

Lat Pulldown and High / Low Cable Pulley

Our PowerSport Lat Pulldown is a great quality machine to work the wide selection of back muscles, specifically the latissimus dorsi muscle. We have a selection of different handles that attach to the pulldown station, allowing for a variety of ways to perform the exercise. Of course, staff are always on hand to help you out with this if you are at all unsure.

The high / low cable pulley is fully adjustable in terms of height, and is possibly the most versatile piece amongst our resistance machinery. We have a wide variety of handles for this piece of apparatus also, allowing a huge variety of exercises to be performed.

Leg Press and Leg Curl

Not forgetting the lower body, our PowerSport Leg Press machine is unique in that it forces the user to push themselves away from the plate, rather than pushing the plate away from them. This changes the exercise to what’s known as a “closed chain” exercise, which helps to keep knees healthy- great way to hammer the quads.

Our Leg Curl machine is equally suited to train the hamstrings and balance out your leg training to help prevent any injuries from high repetition activities such as running. Please remember, resistance machines are best used as part of a complete programme that is based primarily on free weight exercises.
